When HDB neighbours get along & share their corridors, a beautiful home garden is born

Singapore — From joss paper smoke and noise complaints to voodoo-looking dolls underneath the window, stories of Housing and Development Board (HDB) “neighbours from hell” are often highlighted on social media. In a rare case, however, a pretty home garden comes to life when residents get along.

Netizens on Raeesah Khan saga: “Don’t blame others; this is basic responsibility”

Singapore — Amid the conflicting accounts following Raeesah Khan’s lie in Parliament, members from the online community expressed it was responsible behaviour to own one’s mistake instead of blaming others.

“One must be responsible for what he or she says. This is basic responsibility,” noted Facebook user Lew Zhixin. “When you try to play a game of bluff in Parliament, admit it and face the music. She should not pull everyone onto her ship, which is sinking fast.”

WP refutes Yaw Shin Leong’s allegations that Low Thia Khiang, Sylvia Lim, told him to stay silent

Singapore — The Workers’ Party issued a media statement shortly before noon on Tuesday (Dec 7) in response to a Facebook post from former WP MP Yaw Shin Leong.

The WP denied that former secretary-general Low Thia Khiang and chairwoman Sylvia Lim had advised Mr Yaw to stay silent concerning allegations against him in 2012.

MOH: Antigen rapid tests effective in detecting OMICRON variant

Singapore — In a Dec 5 update regarding the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said aside from polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, antigen rapid tests (ART) are also effective in detecting Omicron cases.

“Testing therefore remains key to our early detection and initial containment of transmission,” wrote MOH.

COVID-19 Update: MOH to stop daily press releases ‘as current wave of Delta infections subsides’

Singapore — The Ministry of Health said on Monday night (Dec 6) that it would stop issuing daily press releases about Covid-19 infection statistics “as the current wave of Delta infections subsides”. This is effective from Tuesday (Dec 7) onward.

MOH added that it will continue to update infection statistics on its website on a daily basis, including hospital capacity, the status of COVID-19 patients, vaccination progress in Singapore, and the number of COVID-19 cases.
