Singapore ― Taking matters into her own hands, a girl on TikTok chased after a lady and man who appeared to be the lady’s son, insisting that they put out candles they lit for the lantern festival.
In a TikTok video, one @jszsaf posted on Tuesday (Sept 21), she could be seen chasing after the lady and man, asking them if they were the ones who lit the fire and candles.
Filming the entire thing, and saying that the fire was now close to the grass, she followed them back to the area where they lit the candles.
Though the video was sped up, she could be heard asking them: “Didn’t the Indian uncle scold you just now? And you didn’t know how to be responsible and just put out the fire?”
The lady, who kept glancing back at her filming, said that the candles were very thin and very small.
Clearly incensed, the girl then replied: “Yes, just like your brain, it is very thin and very small”.
“Just like my what? You don’t need to be so sarcastic”, the lady replied, as the man could be heard apologising.
Superimposing text over the clip, she wrote: “[I]ndian uncle confronted them for placing candles on the bench, then they left without blowing the candles out”.
“I chased them when they were otw (on the way) home and asked them to put out their candles”
“[T]old me the candles were very SMALL and burns out easily and that it was their yearly festival”, she added.
Netizens who commented praised her for her bravery instead of just being a keyboard warrior.
