Members from the online community commended the passerby’s quick thinking and the firefighters’ rescue efforts.

A netizen also shared a similar experience, noting he would never forget the gentleman who saved him that day.

“This is sincerely my moment to say this – when I was a small child, a gentleman saved me from a near similar situation as this one. I was alone on an escalator when it happened, and a gentleman pulled me back when I almost leaned all the way out with my head and neck. I thank you so much to the hero that saved me. I never forgot that day. Thank you so much.”

Others hoped this would teach others a lesson not to play when using the escalator./TISG
