Bolton would use military force to arm-twist China: The Post

The South China Morning Post said on Wednesday the new U.S. security adviser is willing to risk a military conflict with China to achieve President Donald Trump’s goals for America.

The Post said this was revealed to them by two former senior US officials.

Bolton joined the White House turning it an increasingly hawkish administration that is willing to go to war at all cost – over Syria currently – and soon North Korea and China.

Former officials who worked with Bolton said in interviews to the Post the latter believed in the ancient Roman battle philosophy: “If you want peace, prepare for war”, and would use military force to coerce compliance from China.

But while Bolton is seen as a military hawk who shares the “Make America Great Again” worldview, the chief executive is believed to oppose the idea of hostilities with another nation, the Post said.

Bolton’s war on Iraq was a total disaster, causing the destruction of a nation that is still struggling to put this horrible past behind.

In March, Bolton made veiled attacks against China on Twitter, saying the sanctions against North Korea were not working.

As a recent U.N. report shows, there are serious problems in the enforcement of international sanctions against #Pyongyang and #Damascus, with serious violations by #China, #Russia and #Iran.

Now that Bolton is back in Washington to guide the U.S. in its foreign policy, the world would certainly expect more wars ala-Bolton that would impact Trump’s tenure.

Counter Punch asked when America launches a preemptive attack on North Korea, will the US find itself at war with China?

“On Monday, the fiercest advocate of a preemptive attack on North Korea, John R. Bolton, joined the Trump Administration.

“Bolton, a former US Ambassador to the UN, replaces H. R. McMaster as President Donald Trump’s national security adviser.

“Bolton is the gold standard against which all other hawks are measured. Bolton pushed for war in Iraq and continues to think that invading Iraq was the right thing to do. He has long clamored for,” said the portal.

Bolton shared his perspective on China in a December 20, 2017 interview on the

FOX Business Network.

Regarding North Korea, Only one non-military solution now exists: convincing China that reuniting Korea is in both of our best interests.

Bolton was asked about reports that Russian and Chinese armed forces are training together in anticipation of a US attack on North Korea.

His response was that he was unfazed, saying the “odds” of a joint Russian-Chinese military response “between slim and none.”

“There is one diplomatic [sic] play left with China,” Bolton told FOX Business. “To say: ‘You want to get rid of the North Korean nuclear threat? The way to do that is to get rid of this regime.’”
