根据日前报导,武吉巴督商联会在即将举行的武吉巴督单选区补选,全力支持人民行动党的候选人,穆仁理。
该商会在四月十七日当天,与穆仁理合办了一个嘉年华会,来利益区内的36O户低收入家庭。主办单位偍供了三十积分给一些选定的家庭,以让他们用这分数来换取干粮、免费理发、和寻找工作的协助。
武吉巴督商联会主席是王义鸿,他也是武吉巴督第五区居民委员会的主席。
OGH OGH2居民委员会是一个属于人民协会管辖的基层组织。
著名的博客Andrew Loh, 曾提到,商联会主席同时是人民协会会员,也是居民委员会主席,是否有利益冲突的可能性?那穆仁理是否该拒绝与他的合作,对避免人民协会造成不必要的负面影响与争议?
他也提问,"候选国会议员是否该划清界线,以确保基层组织不被政治化,特别在这么一个非常政治性的补选时刻?"
他也补充了说,"这不是让人协副会长陈振声,看起来像个大白痴?
内阁部长兼人协副会长陈振声在不久前,反驳了人民协会的党派之说。
工人党主席林瑞莲举证,人协的干部在大选时期被动员,为人民行动党扶选,就证明了人民协会的偏私。
他在回复时说,"人民协会是一个法定机构,它像其他的法定机构一样,执行着当权政府的方针。人协不允许任何的政治招募或活动,在它的地方与活动上出现。当然我们也不会为任何政党动员。"
陈先生反问林小姐,如果有任何人协犯错的证据,就通知他。他说,"我向你保证,我会跟进。如果有的话,我将会是最后一个允许人协被政治化的人。"
