Renowned Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi is a darling of the media but she is also quite secretive of her personal life. So secretive, in fact, that it came as a surprise to all when she managed to hide her pregnancy in 2015.
Zhang gave birth to a healthy baby girl in Dec 27, 2015. Recently, Zhang released never before seen photos of herself after giving birth to her daughter, Xing Xing.
The photos show a radiant and beaming Zhang lying in a hospital bed as her newborn daughter slept on her chest. Zhang’s husband, rock musician Wang Feng, is also in the photos watching over his wife and baby.
In her post, the forty-year-old actress described her daughter’s birth as her “proudest moment” and also the moment when she felt “most beautiful.”
A Chinese reality TV series also broadcast Zhang’s photos along with other celebrity mums and their pregnancies. During the show, Zhang shared her birthing experience and said it was a “smooth delivery.” She only underwent labour for two hours and gave birth in a hospital in the US.
Netizens were astonished at how beautiful and glowing Zhang looked, even after the expected stress, and pains of giving birth.
Zhang wrote, “I want to share it with everyone and hope you can live your life bravely as well!”
Zhang debuted her baby’s first 100 days during a big media celebration in Beijing. Her daughter Xing Xing is now 4 years old.
The actress is known for her roles in martial arts films Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, House of Flying Daggers, as well as the Hollywood adaptation of Memoirs of a Geisha. She has worked with directors Ang Lee and Wong Kar Wai./TISG
