Japan — A woman was arrested by police for having sexual relations with a minor she met while playing an online game.

Nagao Rika (22), a single mother living in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture met the 12-year old-boy as they were playing an online multiplayer battle game.

Rika started chatting with the boy and what began as friendly internet chit-chat turned into something more serious.

They eventually developed a romantic and sexual relationship.

Rika even posted intimate pictures of her and the boy on social media.

She allegedly groomed the young boy for the relationship and encouraged him to run away from home to live in her apartment.

The boy lived 490 km away from Rika. His mother got worried and sent numerous emails.

However, Rika instructed the boy on how to respond to his mother in order to calm her down.

Police received a tip regarding the affair and shortly arrested Rika in her apartment.

Rika shared that she never had much luck with men her age who were either abusive or cheated on her. She said she “did not feel loved” in her previous relationships before she met the 12-year-old boy.

The trial is scheduled for Sept 2019. Rika faces probation and specialised medical treatment and counselling for pedophilia.

In Japan, it is illegal to have sex with persons under 13 years old even if the relationship is consensual. -/TISG
