A 52-year-old trans-faker convict who was remanded at an all female prison in West Yorkshire, England, went on to sexually assaulted four inmates during his time of incarceration there. The convict Karen White was born male, and was previously known as Stephen Wood and/or David Thompson. Karen White is “undergoing gender reassignment”, but has not had sex reassignment surgery.

In 2001, Woods was jailed for 18 months for an act of gross indecency with a child, and served time for that crime in a male prison. He later pleaded guilty to raping one woman in 2003 and another in 2016. Woods was remanded in prison last year for these crimes and is awaiting trial for rape. He is also awaiting sentencing for stabbing a neighbor.

Woods reportedly began “identifying” as “female” in 2014, but some of his friends said he is merely a drag artist and does not have gender dysphoria. Others, however, report that he did seek help from a transgender group in Manchester, which referred him to a “gender identity clinic” in Sheffield.

The Daily Mail reported that Woods was remanded in an all-women facility, New Hall Prison, and there he sexually assaulted four women. Specifically, Wood allegedly exposed himself to one inmate, put a second inmate’s hand on his breast and made “inappropriate comments about oral sex,” pushed himself “indecently” against a third prisoner, and kissed a fourth on the neck.

Woods admitted to two indecent assaults against female prisoners, but denied the others, claiming to suffer from erectile dysfunction and to not be attracted to women.

The prosecutor in Woods’ trial said: “the defendant would stand very close to [the victim], touch her arm and wink at her. Her penis was erect and sticking out of the top of her trousers.”

Following the incidents, Wood was transferred to the men’s facility HM Prison Leeds.

A Prison Service spokesman said: “We apologize sincerely for the mistakes which were made in this case. While we work to manage all prisoners, including those who are transgender, sensitively and in line with the law, we are clear that the safety of all prisoners must be our absolute priority.”

There are reportedly 125 transgender prisoners in jails in England and Wales. Janice Turner, a columnist for The Times, has condemned the decision by the authorities to remand the trans-fake in an all-women prison saying: “Confining a rapist in a women’s prison, among vulnerable inmates including rape victims, is like locking a fox in a henhouse.”
