A video circulating on Facebook and posted by a group calling itself the “Malaysian Terrorist & Mission Threats Study Center” (in Malay, Pusat Kajian Ancaman Pengganas & Misionari Di Malaysia) shows a man speaking in Malay on his support for the banned Sri Lankan Tamil Tigers Liberation Front.

In the Facebook page, the video uncovers the existence of an ‘LTTE’ group in Malaysia. The man speaking in the video, Kalai Mugilan, is warning the police in Malaysia not to stop the activities of his group.

The man says in Malay that he is a Malaysian citizen who understands the laws and the ‘Rukun Negara’ or Pillars of the State and that he has the right to support the LTTE.

In the background in the video, there is a poster in Tamil with a picture of Velupillai Prabhakaran, the founder and leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam or LTTE, a militant organization that waged a war in Sri Lanka in its bid to create an independent Tamil state in the north and east of the country.

The military movement was recently defeated, ending decades of violent action in Sri Lanka.
In the video, the man warns the Malaysian police not to ‘threaten’ the grouping for its support for the LTTE.
“What if I say I love Prabhakaran, I love the LTTE? Is there any laws that can stop us?” he asked. (Watch Video in Link)
According to the Facebook page, Kalai Mugilan is one of the active members in the recently launched campaign in support of the LTTE in Malaysia.
The Facebook page also posted another video showing a group of men demonstrating while police personnel in local police uniforms attempt to stop the demonstration.
The admin of the Facebook page questions why the Malaysian police is seen ‘apologizing’ to the group. It also suggested the group organise the demonstration because they had links to people in power in the country.
In an article published by a news blog, nthqibord.com, the writer says “Kalai claims to have close cooperation with P. Ramasamy who is a member of the TGTE (LTTE fragment)”.

Dr P Ramasamy is a Malaysian politician and the Deputy Chief Minister of the state of Penang and did not issue any statement on the accusations made by the Facebook page. He is a member of the Democratic Action Party.

Nevertheless, in the video, Kalai Mugilan said the Malaysian police have no right to prevent them from voicing their support for the LTTE or for saying the LTTE is the basis of the struggle of the Tamils in Malaysia.

The pro-LTTE group is accused of supporting Israel, which prompted many Facebook users to comment that the group members should leave Malaysia and take their fight elsewhere.

The Facebook page admin and several users commented the Malaysian police should take action against a ‘terrorist’ group.
