The Workers’ Party (WP) has come out with a new initiative – a Youtube talk show featuring prominent members of the opposition party, where those featured talk about current affairs.
WP’s candidates in the last general election, Kenneth Foo and Cheryl Loh, host the talk show. They said that the show is not one to talk about ‘cats’, but is a serious one.
Non Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP), Leon Perera, is the star of 1st episode of the current affairs programme. He was introduced by Cheryl as the ‘king of facts’.
The NCMP talked about the Commission of Inquiry (COI) and explained why the opposition party called for one, to better address the Hepatitis C outbreak at the Singapore General Hospital.
He also explained why WP did not push for a COI after the Medical Review Committee (MRC) released its findings.
Mr Perera also asked if the workload of doctors and nurses in Singapore is in line with the workload of such professionals in other countries. He said that this was not part of the terms of reference for the MRC, but wondered if it was an underlying factor.
The hosts of the show also shared other trivia about the political party and its members.
