Found in 2011, the Indian coupon aggregation site CouponzGuru has managed to create a strong presence in the country, and now it is expanding overseas today with the launch of its Singapore website couponzguru.sg

After this launch, the company is aiming to enter into a new country every two months. Currently it has Malaysia, Australia, Brazil and Indonesia in the pipeline.

The company is targeting the Asia-Pacific region, starting with Singapore, as unlike the saturated online market in the West, the online couponing space is still raw in these countries and the opportunity is large for the early players.

In Singapore, the company has tied up with travel sites like Expedia, Hotels.sg, Zuji and   Booking.com for travel deals. It is going to host the discount deals of the big popular online retailers –   Zalora, Valuebasket, Rakuten, Luxola, Redmart and the likes.

When asked why have a specific website for each country, instead of a global website catering to all, Vikash Khetan, CEO, Couponzguru replied “Country specific websites are helpful in breaking the language barrier. Also the customer behaviour for each market is different and thus it helps on customizing the website as per the needs of a particular country.”

As the online commerce market grows, online couponing becomes big along with it. According to a recent release by APN, 74% online buyers in India visit coupon and deals sites before making a purchase. Markets like Singapore, Indonesia etc. are still fresh to this concept, hence there is a great opportunity for seasoned Indian players to expand in these regions.
