SINGAPORE- The recent incident where a couple was filmed spouting profanities and inflicting violence at a cyclist who “accidentally” hit their car has a new twist.

With the initial upload of the video filmed by the 15-year old cyclist, the couple was put in the limelight as their uncivilised and insolent behaviour invited opinions of all sorts.

To clear their names, the couple has released a recording caught on their car’s dashcam and asserted that there was no instance of the alleged “jamming of brakes”, and the cyclist had indeed crashed into their car, with only himself to blame.

The initial claim from the cyclist was that the woman had jammed the brakes, causing him to hit the back of her Audi car. However, the footage revealed that the cyclist had bumped more than just his hands on the car.

Addtitionally, the woman claimed that the cyclist was not “apologetic to start with” and even attempted to “clean off the damage” to the car before the couple could take pictures for evidence.

Mr Foo, who was the owner of the car, wrote, “Yes, we might have overreacted in a certain manner but it was the actions and unremorseful attitude of this arrogant individual that provoked us continuously.”

Regardless, the police are carrying out investigations and the truth will be known in no time.

Many netizens read the post with a pinch of salt as they felt that the violence against the cyclist was unacceptable.

Others thought more graciousness could be shown on the part of the driver.
