2 Americans regret not responding to Joseph Schooling’s Tinder messages

Only today did Twitter user Sabwow realise that that guy she was matched with on Tinder is an Olympic gold medallist. She ignored the conversation with Joseph Schooling for almost four months. Her post has now gone viral with over 11,000 retweets.

According to the screenshot the user posted, it looks like Schooling matched with her profile on April 7, and subsequently messaged her on the app. When she responded to his greeting, he messaged her again the following day. She however did not respond to his subsequent message, and and the conversation ended.

Schooling is studying at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is a member of the Texas Longhorns swimming team. It seems that Tinder matched Schooling to Sabwow because he was closer to her when he was matched by the app.

Another Twitter user also from the USA, regrets not responding to Schooling’s Tinder chat. Roxana responded to Sabwow’s Tweet saying, “I hit it first”.
